2020 Parade Cancelled

See you next year!
PARADE ROUTE

Organizers for the 2020 Surrey Santa Parade of Lights sadly announce that efforts to convert the annual parade to a Drive Thru event have failed. With a short timeline, organizers attempted to repackage the Parade into a mile-long drive thru event on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds but ran into several logistical barriers with various Fairground tenants.

That combined with the uncertainty of the event occurring dampened past entrants from committing to the new concept which would have required each entrant to have sufficient generator capacity to last for over 5 hours. The Cloverdale BIA will look at some new ways to have a few of the decorated vehicles that the BC Vintage Truck museum have prepared to be on display in late Nov. and through part of December in fund raising efforts for local charities.

Santa is Coming to Town!

Visit the Cloverdale Town Centre in Surrey on Sunday, December 1 and celebrate the arrival of Santa with a magical, evening, lighted parade.

Inspired by the most watched commercial of all time, the 1997 Coca Cola lighted truck commercial, was partially filmed in Downtown Cloverdale.

Surrey Lacrosse proudly participates in both Cloverdale parades to keep our community sport, within the community. It’s a great way to reach many parents and youth from Surrey, and a fantastic opportunity to promote Canada’s game. Also, who doesn’t love a parade. It’s a win-win for Surrey Lacrosse each and every time from the people we reach and the kids we have participating. Thank you Cloverdale BIA.

Parade Organizers

This year, the BIA’s from Cloverdale, Downtown Surrey, and Fleetwood districts have worked together to grow the Surrey Santa Parade and the Big Rigs for Kids Parade into a larger event. Our goal is to have activity centres in each of our town centres that will be family friendly, fun, and entertaining. We work closely with the City of Surrey and the Surrey RCMP to ensure the event is safe. At each of the activity centres will be a number of fund raising organizations, including the Surrey Food Bank and Surrey Christmas Bureau. We are deeply thankful to all of the participants, the volunteers and our sponsors who worked together to make Surrey a very special place and to welcome Santa!
